Ghana forward Christian Atsu geared up to take Turkish Super Lig by storm after joining Hatayspor

Ghana international, Christian Atsu will spend the 2022/23 football season in Turkey after signing for Super Lig side, Hatayspor.

The former Chelsea and Newcastle United winger signed a one-year contract with the club in Turkey on Tuesday evening after passing the mandatory medical examination.

“We signed a 1+1 year contract with experienced right and left winger Christian Atsu, who previously played for clubs such as Everton, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Porto, and Malaga. The signing ceremony was attended by our Honorary President, Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Assoc. Dr. Lütfü Savaş joined.

“We welcome Christian Atsu and wish him endless success with our burgundy and white jersey,” an official club statement from Hatayspor has said today.

Reacting to his latest move, Christian Atsu has expressed appreciation to the Turkish club and adds that he is pumped up for the challenge ahead.

“Thank you for making me feel so welcomed! Thank you President Doç.Dr.Lütfü Savaş, Mr. Mehmet Guzel, and everyone at Hatayspor. Excited for this new opportunity,” Christian Atsu shared on his Twitter page.

Last season, the Ghana forward signed for Saudi side Al-Raed but didn’t have the season he wanted due to injury setbacks.

He has moved to Hatayspor Kulübü in hopes of getting back to his best to have the chance to help the team.
